Buy remedies and a starter shield before a cosmetic. The wooden shield is the 25 Col, +2% defense option in the Town of Beginnings. Ferion armor at level 3 is the first armor that changes speed.

Weapons break at zero durability. Repair or replace them at a weapon shop. Durability loss is from use, not from dying.
Food and Col
Raw boar meat sells for 7 Col. Cook it at a stove or campfire in Rorunka or Medai into Grilled Boar Steak. The steak restores 150 health and sells for 42 to 47 Col. That is the early Col loop that does not depend on a code.
Upgrade Stones come from the Tolbana quest to kill 15 Nepenthes: 1 stone, 1,287 XP, and 662 Col. Stones are used at the blacksmith. No per-level upgrade table was published, so this page does not invent a plus-value.
Legendary weapon quests
These quests do not save if you log out, crash, or disconnect. Finish the kills in one session, then turn in before you leave.

The Minotaur loadout notes spell a sword "Neil Blade." That may be the Anneal Blade under another spelling. Both names are kept because the sources do not show the item card side by side.
Lower-tier weapons still matter: mastery level, not character level alone, gates Steel and these legendaries.
