Black Swordsman tutor: Opening combat tutor for the boar parry. Get it by Inside the Town of Beginnings at the start of a character. Use it to Finish this conversation before you spend your 20 Col, so you know draw and parry.
The tutorial Black Swordsman explains combat and asks you to parry a boar, then defeat a Frenzy Boar. This NPC is separate from the Black Swordsman Attire cosmetic.

Finish this conversation before you spend your 20 Col, so you know draw and parry.
You keep the character level you already reached, and the experience bar toward the next level returns to zero. You respawn in a town. Optional Permanent Death mode is a separate ruleset in which death deletes the character.
On a keyboard, press O to toggle first person and third person. The experience page lists PC, console, mobile, and tablet. In-game key remapping is reported as unavailable.
The Codes screen and the in-game cog menu are both documented, but no working code string and no expired code string were published as of October 17, 2026. Do not type placeholder words.
Player trading of Col and items is reported to unlock at character level 5. Below that level the trade menu does not complete a transfer.
The weapon has to be drawn first. Press Q. If the blade is sheathed, left click does not damage the target. Third person makes the sheath state easier to see.
